Subject:The ICONET project takes part at the 7th International Physical Internet Conference (IPIC2020)

The Physical Internet envisions the Supply Chain of tomorrow in a sustainable, cost efficient and interoperable network of networks inspired by the Digital Internet elements and analogies. In a fragmented and complex industry of Transportation and Logistics, which remains a key contributor to macroeconomic developments recent globalization, technological advancements and data digitization, the Physical Internet promises a novel, technologically advanced and transparent cooperative framework offering benefits to all operators and users. 

On the 20th of November 2020, eBOS R&D Senior Project Manager, Philippos Philippou, took part at the 7th International Physical Internet Conference (IPIC2020) organized via teleconference by the Shenzhen University in Shenzhen, China. This virtual event, covered in the first day interesting keynote presentations by renowned speakers and pioneers of Physical Internet on the latest developments. The following two days consisted of parallel sessions with presentations and discussions of related papers by speakers.

ICONET’s Living Labs are the testing ground of the project and through co-creation and validation they have provided the value adding capability of the Physical Internet concept. The e-Commerce Living Lab was presented on the third day of the Conference by the Portuguese retailer SONAE as Living Lab leader and supported by the technical partners VLTN GCV and ITAINNOVA to present the findings of the relevant work carried out in ICONET.
