Subject:The ICONET project brings Physical Internet innovation to Supply Chain Logistics

The Physical Internet (PI) offers a new innovative way that optimizes logistics processes towards a more cost-effective, eco-friendly, service-driven supply chain, possible by applying the concepts of the Digital Internet (DI) to the physical world. The ICONET project has emphasised from the beginning the need for a testing ecosystem where technical solution providers and users can research, design, apply and validate ideas, technologies and concepts which will bring benefit to the Europe’s Transport and Logistics industry and beyond. 

In the ICONET Living Labs, concepts and technologies for the Physical Internet are evaluated, tested and applied to real-world logistics processes. The aim is to quantify the business value, reveal opportunities and challenges in the PI domain and involve and confirm findings with the co-creation and collaboration of industry users and project technical partners.

On the 23rd of September 2020, eBOS R&D Senior Project Manager, Philippos Philippou, took part in the General Assembly organised by the Horizon 2020 ICONET project. This virtual meeting was hosted by the Project Coordinator Inlecom and reviewed progress and developments at the current stage of the project’s work packages focusing also on the status and way ahead of the Living Labs presented by eBOS Technologies Ltd.

The workshop brought together 24 participants from 12 European countries .
