Subject:New H2020 project TRUSTS for secure sharing of data kicks off!

On the 23rd and 24th of January 2020, the TRUSTS - ‘Trusted Secure Data Sharing Space’ - project held its successful kick-off meeting in Hannover, Germany. This new EU-funded Research & Innovation Action, is coordinated by Ms. Alexandra Garatzogianni representing the Leibniz University of Hannover. The project combines solid research and state-of-the-art technological innovation to support the emergence of a European data market and economy based on secured, safe and GDPR–compliant data exchanges.
Mrs Aspa Filippou, R&D Project Manager, and Mrs Gotelenne Piaton, R&D Program & Communication Manager, represented eBOS Technologies at the kick-off-meeting of the project which brought together the project’s 17 partners from 9 countries. The TRUSTS consortium unites technology providers that are already involved in major national data market projects while the demonstration of the TRUSTS Platform will involve 6 companies, including 2 data providers, addressing 3 multi-industry use-cases.
The TRUSTS platform will act independently, as well as a platform federator, while incorporating the legal and ethical aspects that apply on the entire data valorification chain, from data providers to consumers. Specifically, the project will:

  • Set up a fully operational and GDPR-compliant European Data Marketplace for personal data and non-personal data targeting both personal and industrial use by leveraging existing data marketplaces (International Data Space and Data Market Austria) and enriching them with new functionalities and services.
  • Demonstrate and realise the potential of the TRUSTS Platform in 3 use cases targeting the industry sectors of corporate business data, specifically in the financial and telecom operator industries while ensuring it is supported by a viable, compliant and impactful governance, legal and business model.

In TRUSTS, eBOS will be mainly involved in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the three business-oriented TRUSTS use cases. eBOS will undertake the role of Work Package leader for the demonstration of the TRUSTS Platform. eBOS will also play a central role in the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) use case, in which it will both act as an open/public data provider and aggregator and leverage its existing bespoke WiseBOS ERP solution for Risk Intelligence, Scoring & Compliance.

eBOS will also be involved in the:

  • The Requirements elicitation & specifications phase;
  • The implementation of the TRUSTS Platform;
  • The design, development and integration of new adaptive analytics algorithms and cognitive self-learning models;
  • Dissemination & communication activities.

‘eBOS will leverage its extensive experience in ICT, data analytics and data visualisation to deliver on the vision of the TRUSTS Platform, delivering safe, secure and innovation-supporting data exchanges. We will be deeply involved in the successful testing, validation and demonstration of the effectiveness of the TRUSTS Platform, and look forward to a successful collaboration with all consortium partners’’, said Aspa Filippou.

Updates and news will be frequently posted on the project’s website during the course of the project, which will last three years and conclude in December 2022. Until the official website launch, the project’s factsheet is available on CORDIS.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 871481.
