Subject:The FENIX partners successfully align their efforts for the technical integration of the project’s federative network of platforms

The FENIX - European Federated Network of Information eXchange in LogistiX - project continues making progress towards the Technical Integration of the first European federated architecture for data-sharing along the nine Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) corridors.

On the 28th and 29th of January 2020, eBOS colleagues Philippos Philippou, Senior R&D Project Manager, and Kyriakos Petrou, Software Developer, joined the 2nd FENIX technical meeting held in Madrid, Spain. The 2-day technical workshop was hosted by consortium partner Atos, who leads the project’s Activity 3, dedicated to Technical Integration. The meeting gathered more than 20 participants from 13 organisations.

The objectives of the meeting were to:

  • Review the FENIX IT ecosystem, the vision, approach and high-level IT architecture for the FENIX project;
  • Explore user stories on federated data sharing, identity management, data brokerage from former projects in view of identifying compelling use cases for FENIX;
  • Discuss the FENIX IT framework and its alignment with the building blocks of the Digital Transport and Logistics Forum;
  • Further outline the architecture roadmap for progressing on the technical integration of the FENIX federative network of platforms.

‘The FENIX project is now focused on Technical Integration, an Activity in which eBOS contributes ICT expertise and development. Technical meetings are essential to align the efforts of all participating partners and deliver on the vision of a ‘digital’ European transport industry. We are delighted to take part in a fruitful discussion with the FENIX technical partners’ said Philippos Philippou.

FENIX is a project funded by the European Union under agreement no INEA/CEF/TRAN/M2018/1793401 for the Connecting Europe Facility.
