Subject:eBOS joins European Technology Platforms NESSI, NEM, NetWorld2020 and NGI

eBOS is pleased to announce its participation to leading European Technology Platforms in areas which are of major importance in terms of future European growth, competitiveness and sustainability: the Software and Services (NESSI), New Media (NEM), Communications networks (Networld2020) and the Next Generation Internet (NGI) platforms. 

These initiatives constitute industry-led fora made up of private and public stakeholders– industry, administration, scientists, policy-makers, SMEs and end users –, which develop research and innovation agendas and roadmaps for activities in their relevant sector. The European Commission considers European Technology Platforms as having an advisory role in the implementation of Horizon 2020, in which eBOS actively participates with 4 ongoing research and innovation projects.

  • NESSI, the Networked European Software and Services Initiative, provides input to the EU Institutions on research actions and technology matters of particular importance to the software domain, and the overall aim is to enable the software and services sector help vitalize the great potential of the European economy and society.
  • NEM, the New European Media Initiative, aims at fostering the convergence between consumer electronics, broadcasting and telecoms in order to develop the emerging business sector of networked and electronic media. 
  • NetWorld2020 is the European Technology Platform for communications networks and services which are the foundation of the Internet. It contributes to collaborative research programmes in the domain of mobile and wireless, fixed and satellite communication networks.
  • NGI, the Next Generation Internet initiative, aims to shape the future internet as an interoperable platform ecosystem that embodies the values that Europe holds dear: openness, inclusivity, transparency, privacy, cooperation, and protection of data. The NGI will drive this technological revolution and ensure the progressive adoption of advanced concepts and methodologies spanning the domains of artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, interactive technologies and more, while contributing to making the future internet more human-centric.
